Started back in 2010, Kudumbasree Best Foods owned and run by Maheshwaran, has been serving its customers with hot Bhajji and Pazhampori among other excellent snacks. Located at Judges Avenue, Ernakulam, this small one-room shop is open from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM on all weekdays and remains closed on Sundays.
It is always the simple things that’s hard to get right. There are numerous shops in and around Ernakulamtown which serves snacks such as Bhajji and Pazhampori but more often, they just don’t deliver on the taste or quality of the dishes they serve.
Kudumbasree Best Foods is a place you can depend on this aspect. The taste of the dishes they serve is vouched for by their numerous customers who have their items daily for the last six years. When you are traveling from ManappattiParambil Signal Junction towards Judges Avenue, this shop is on the right side.
Although they serve varieties of snack dishes such Parippuvada, Ullivada, UzhunnuVada, etc., this place took notice among the foodies and their regular patrons for the distinctive taste of their Pazhampori and different types of Bhajji. It is best if you get here either during the morning hours or early evening time to get fresh and hot snacks.
Maheshwaran, the owner of this shop, is a native of Madhura District in Tamil Nadu. He came to Kerala at a very young age with his family. They first set foot in the food industry by preparing and selling homemade snacks such as Banana Chips, Murukku, etc. However, as time passed, this became an increasingly difficult affair to maintain the quality with rising price of ingredients used. So in 2010, he set foot into this new venture and never had to look back again.
The strong lineage his family has with the food industry is evident in the taste of the dishes available here which are prepared by Maheshwaran himself. Parcel customers are more during evening hours, and you cannot miss this place during their rush hours as there will be a small waiting crowd.
They have few stools set in front of the shop, which is mostly insufficient for the masses turning up during rush hours. But it is of no complaint to any of the patrons; most of them employees of nearby offices and hospitals as they busily gorge up hot hotPazhampories and Bhajjis.
