Located near to Town Hall, North, Hotel Sani during its glory days was one of the biggest and best hotels in the city. After all these years Sani is still going strong in a city like Kochi, where new restaurants with variety menu pop up every other day. Open from 8 am to 10 pm everyday, Biriyani is the most famous dish from this place. Lunch and dinner hours are both equally suitable to visit this restaurant.
Founded back in 1977 by Abdul and Yousuf brothers, Sani restaurant was one of the best and biggest restaurants in the city at that time. As the time passed, Kochi has grown into a bastion of different food cultures and many restaurants came with various cuisines from around the world, but Hotel Sani although now not the biggest names in the food scene in the city, still gives it customers a glance into the yester year along with some mouth watering dishes.
When you are going from North to Marine Drive on Banerji Road this restaurant is located on the right side just after Town Hall. They don’t have much parking space infront of their restaurant and its quite difficult to find parking space anywhere near on the busy Banerji Road. As most of their customers are travellers who get down at the North Railway station or Bus Stop, lack of a parking area doesn’t really adversely affect their business.
From the time they have started business, Biriyani from this hotel has been their most popular item. Biriyani from this restaurant is pretty decent with all the right elements in proper proportion. Finish the Biriyani and have a lime tea to fish it off and you will feel satisfaction, which lacks in most of the other restaurants. Afternoon meals coupled with their Karimeen Fry and Porotta with Fish curry etc also have been quite dear to the customers of this place.
They have a pretty spacious dining area which starts as a rectangular shaped narrow dining hall that opens into a pretty wide and spacious dining setup. The whole look of this restaurant has reminiscence of their yesteryear glory days, with more than enough service people for quickly attending to customers even during rush hours.
