This restaurant got a name for itself among the gourmets in the district for their special mutton dishes. Center Hotel is located at Alamkodu Junction, on Trivandrum to Kollam highway and is open from 7 am to 10 pm on all days of the week. Lunch and Dinner hours are the best time to visit this place that serves Mutton curry, Mutton Roast, Mutton Soup and Mutton Brain as their main dishes.
Center Restaurant, which has been around for forty years, has now turned into an epitome of Mutton cuisine in Trivandrum district. Although this restaurant serves some chicken dishes too for the families who prefer them, the focus is more on their mutton dishes that got famous for the flavor and freshness of mutton used in the preparation.
This hotel is located on Alamkodu Junction itself on Trivandrum to Kollam highway on right side, just two kilometers away from Attingal Junction. They have a relatively new restaurant by the same name just 50 meters away from the old restaurant, but the menu at that restaurant is more centered on chicken varieties. Both restaurants have a small parking area available right infront of the restaurant itself.
Mutton dishes at this restaurant got noticed for its freshness, which is ensured by taking care of the meatneeds themselves. As they butcher the mutton themselves, almost every part of the mutton is served here as delicacies, some of which you wont get in ordinary restaurants. Mutton Soup, Mutton Brain, Liver Roast and Mutton Thoran prepared with the intestine of mutton are some of such rare dishes to relish from this place. Mutton curry, Mutton Roast, Mutton Fry are some of the popular dishes that are much demanded by their customers. Most of the mutton special dishes except for biriyani is available from evening hours only so its best to vist this restaurant during their dinner hours.
This was a very small hotel when they started, but later they rebuild this restaurant into what you can see today. This place has a large dining area with some family cabins adjacent to it. Service is a bit slow but waiting some time for this kind of food is truly worth the experience. Hussain, the owner of the restaurant, was also the head chef at this place, when they opened some forty years back. As he is old now, he is overseeing at the cash counter but promises the taste and principles of this place remain the same. Get to this place and taste one of their dishes and you will agree with him for sure.
