Kizhisseri Mandhi is another strong contender who claims, they bought Mandhi to Kerala. Try their Mandhi and you may be inclined to believe it. Located near Calicut - Thrissur highway at Athani, this restaurant will be open everyday from 12 m to 12 am. Lunch and dinner hours are the best time to visit this restaurant which serves both chicken and Mutton Mandhis.
Another highway stop over, Babul Yemen is another one of the few dedicated Mandhi spots that is still standing after many claim that the heyday of Mandhi is over in Malabar. Open from 12 pm onwards this place gets full during weekends.
Mandhi and Chicken grill items are the only dishes they serve here. They have both mutton and chicken Mandhis for you to choose from at any given time of the day. Whichever mandhi you might choose to try from this place – chicken or mutton, the taste remains constant. Kizhissery Mandhi mandhi’s rice feels better with that slightly different masala taste than the usual.
