To make a style of your own is no small feat and that is precisely why Appada Biriyani deserves a special mention. Biriyani prepared with their special fried chicken is what makes this small eatery special. Open from 6 pm to 10 pm they will be closed on all Sundays. This restaurant is located behind Tanur Railway station at Eranallor, Appada and Special Biriyani is their must try item.
Usually every restaurant that sells Biriyani as their main dish concentrates there business to afternoon lunch hours, but at Appada Biriyani they start serving Biriyani after 6 pm only. Then that is not the only thing unique about this restaurant. This small restaurant that seems located nowhere near a main road attracts customers with their uniquely prepared Biriyani.
Appada Biriyani is known for its one of a kind preparation method and taste. The rice used in this Biriyani is proper ‘Dum’ style prepared along with adding masalas and shreds of chicken parts. Chicken fried separately with their special masala is then stuffed inside the rice and served. The juiciness of the fried chicken mixed with the special Dum rice is what makes this dish a crowd puller. You can buy extra chicken or rice which are served sizzling hot which takes the whole experience to another level.
If you want to try their Biriyani during afternoon hours, you can visit their branch at Thannalur on Tirur – Chembra Road, Moonnamoola. This restaurant is located near to A.M L.P School, Eranelloor behind Tanur Railway station.
Nasser and Kareem who are brothers own the restaurants and also acts as the head cook. They used to run restaurants in Bangalore and Chennai from where they got the ideas for this special Biriyani style. So when they wanted to start a restaurant in their home town, they modified the styles of Biriyani they have seen to make Appada Biriyani. Believe it or not this small restaurant has patented their Biriyani and trademarked the name Appada Biriyani.
They open from 3 pm in the evening and serve nadan snacks dishes till 6 pm. They have a small dining area that gets filled during their dinner hours. Dont expect much of an ambience but they do can fill your mind with their awesome biriyani.
